Claire Schadler grew up in Rappahannock County and is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School. After high school, she attended Bard College where she majored in Asian Studies. She then earned her Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Her interest in languages and culture led her to Japan where she taught English at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies and Oaxaca, Mexico where she taught English and education classes to undergraduate and graduate students who were studying to be English teachers.
Claire has also worked remotely as an education consultant for LaMeire College Consulting. In this role, she counseled high school students on summer opportunities and worked closely with high school seniors throughout the college application process. After living in Mexico for eight years, Claire returned to Rappahannock County where she worked at Hearthstone School, teaching all subjects to Upper School students. She lives in Castleton with her husband, Brant, and their Mexican street dog, Burdi.
