in 1997 by a group of public school parents to provide independent
support for the Rappahannock County (VA) Public Schools and to increase
community involvement in education, Headwaters is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit
organization.
Headwaters
acts as a catalyst for educational growth and community connectedness
in Rappahannock County.
Our
mission is to foster educational excellence by cultivating the cooperative
spirit and resources of the whole community to benefit all students.

News this week: "Governor Kaine last week signed into law one
of the two school funding bills that could bring more state funds
to Rappahannock schools.
The House bill,
H.B. 936, sponsored by Rappahannock delegate Todd Gilbert, will
make Rappahannock eligible to pursue additional state education
funding through a cost-sharing agreement with an adjacent county...."
